Marcello Sport is a family business. We have spent decades helping men find clothes that fit them properly, and we take the same view of our website: it should work for the person using it. That includes customers who are blind or have low vision, customers who are deaf or hard of hearing, customers with limited dexterity or motor control, and customers with cognitive or learning differences.

This page explains what we are doing, where we currently fall short, how to reach a person if the site gets in your way, and what your rights are.

Our commitment

We are working to make marcellosport.com, our mobile experience, and our retail locations accessible to and usable by people of all abilities.

Our standard. We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium, and we monitor WCAG 2.2 as we plan future work. We also work toward the effective-communication requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act and applicable state accessibility laws.

What we can honestly say. We aim to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We do not claim that every page of this site conforms today. Our site is large, changes weekly as merchandise moves, and includes content and functionality supplied by third parties that we do not fully control. Claiming perfect conformance would not be true, and we would rather tell you where we are.

What we are doing on the site itself

Accessibility has to be built into the pages. These are the areas we work on directly, in our theme and templates:

  • Structure and semantics. Pages use HTML landmarks, heading hierarchy, lists, and form labels so assistive technology can convey the page's structure.
  • Keyboard operation. Navigation, menus, filters, product options, cart, and checkout are intended to be operable by keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a "skip to content" link at the top of every page.
  • Images. We write descriptive alternative text for product photography and meaningful graphics, prioritizing the details that matter when you can't see the garment — fabric, pattern, color, collar and cuff construction, fit. Decorative images are marked so screen readers skip them. Where our team has not yet written a description, an automated fallback may supply one; see the note on automated alt text below.
  • Color and contrast. Text and interface elements are designed toward WCAG AA contrast ratios. Color is never the only way we convey information — size availability, sale status, and error messages are also stated in text.
  • Text sizing and zoom. Content reflows and remains readable at 200% zoom without loss of function.
  • Forms and errors. Fields are labeled, required fields identified, and errors described in text rather than by color or position alone.
  • Motion. We avoid content that flashes more than three times per second and respect the operating system "reduce motion" preference.
  • Testing. We run automated scanning on a recurring basis and periodic manual review, including keyboard-only navigation and testing with NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver.

About the accessibility widget on this site

We want to be straightforward about this, because there is a lot of confusion in the market.

This site uses a third-party accessibility widget, Accessibility Spark (provided by Trident AB). It appears as an icon on every page. It offers optional display adjustments — text resizing and desaturation, contrast and color schemes, letter, word, and line spacing, link highlighting, cursor size and color, and animation pausing — and it applies automated screen-reader and keyboard-navigation adjustments across the site, including AI-generated alternative text for images that do not already have it. It also scans the site for changes on a recurring basis and produces periodic audit reports that we review.

Some of these tools are genuinely useful, and they are there for anyone who wants them.

Here is what the widget is and is not.

  • It is optional. You never have to use it. If it is not helpful to you, close it and it will stay closed.
  • It is an aid, not our compliance strategy. We do not treat the widget as a substitute for fixing the underlying pages, and we do not claim conformance with WCAG on the basis of having installed it. Its vendor markets it as delivering compliance; we describe it more conservatively, because we think that is the accurate way to describe any automated tool. The commitments on this page describe work we do in the site's own code and in our own content. The widget sits on top of that.
  • Automated alternative text is a fallback, not the standard. Where our team has written a description for a product image, that description is what you will hear. Where automated text is supplied instead, it is generated by image recognition and may be generic, incomplete, or wrong — particularly for pattern, texture, and our hand-painted pieces, where the detail is the point. If a description isn't giving you what you need, call us and someone who has handled the garment will describe it.
  • It may not play well with your own assistive technology. If you already use a screen reader, magnifier, voice control, or browser accessibility settings, an overlay can sometimes conflict with them — for example, by capturing keyboard shortcuts or announcing itself when you'd rather it didn't. If the widget is getting in your way, dismiss it, and please tell us. That is exactly the kind of report we want.
  • Keyboard shortcuts. The widget may bind certain key combinations. If those conflict with shortcuts your assistive technology uses, close the widget and the conflict will stop.
  • It is a third-party product. Its behavior, and its own handling of any data it processes, are governed by its provider. See our Privacy Policy.

If you believe the widget itself is causing a problem, email cs@marcellosport.com with "Accessibility" in the subject line and describe what happened. We will investigate, and we will raise it with the vendor. We treat the widget as replaceable.

Compatibility

The site is designed to work with current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android, in combination with assistive technologies including JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack.

Accessibility depends on your particular combination of browser, operating system, and assistive technology. Older browsers, older assistive technology versions, and unusual combinations may not perform as expected.

Known limitations

We would rather name these than pretend they don't exist. We are actively working on each.

  • Third-party content. Embedded content we do not control — including our digital catalog viewer, social media feeds, payment provider interfaces, review widgets, and map or store-locator services — may not fully conform. We raise issues with these vendors, and we will always provide the same information or complete the same transaction for you by phone.
  • Our printed catalog is not accessible in its printed form. Call us and we will read any part of it to you, take your order over the phone, and describe fit, fabric, and color in as much detail as you want.
  • Legacy pages and older product photography. Some archived pages and older images may have incomplete alternative text. We remediate these as we find them and as we replace seasonal content.
  • Complex product imagery. Detailed pattern, texture, and hand-painted artwork can be difficult to convey fully in alternative text. If a description isn't giving you what you need, call us — a salesperson who has handled the garment will describe it.
  • PDF documents. Some downloadable documents may not be fully tagged for accessibility. We will provide an accessible alternative on request.
  • The accessibility widget. The optional widget described in the next section is a third-party tool. It does not remediate every page, its adjustments do not apply to embedded third-party content, and it may conflict with assistive technology you already use. It is a convenience layer, not a fix.

If you are having trouble — reach a person

This is the important part of this page. If any part of this site, our catalog, or our stores prevents you from getting information, browsing merchandise, or completing a purchase, contact us and we will help you directly and complete the transaction for you.

Alternative ways to shop with us

We have never been a website-only business, and we do not expect the website to be the only way to reach us.

  • By phone. Call 561-824-2405 during business hours. Our customer service team is U.S.-based and in-house. They can describe merchandise in detail, check stock across all of our locations, take your order, arrange shipping, and process returns and exchanges.
  • By catalog. Request our printed catalog, and call to order from it. We will read listings, prices, sizes, and colors to you.
  • In our stores. Our Florida locations and Lee Newman Clothing in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, offer in-person assistance, fitting, and tailoring. We will bring merchandise to you, describe it, and assist with fitting.
  • By email. Write to cs@marcellosport.com and we will respond in whatever format works best for you.

None of these alternatives costs more than shopping on the website, and prices, promotions, and return rights are identical.

Physical accessibility of our stores

We are committed to accessible retail locations. If you would like to know about entrance access, aisle width, fitting room access, restroom access, parking, or assistance available at a particular store before you visit, call us at 561-824-2405 and we will tell you exactly what to expect at that location and make arrangements in advance. If you need assistance we cannot provide in-store, tell us and we will find another way to serve you.

How we handle accessibility going forward

  • Accessibility review is part of how we evaluate site changes, new features, and new vendors.
  • We maintain a running remediation list and work through it on a scheduled basis.
  • We ask our technology vendors for accessibility documentation before we adopt their tools.
  • Our customer service team is trained to recognize accessibility requests and route them.
  • We review this statement at least annually and update it when our site or our practices change.

Feedback shapes this

Most of what we've fixed, we fixed because a customer told us. If something is hard to use, tell us — even if you aren't sure it's an "accessibility issue." We would rather hear it.

Formal concerns

If you have raised an issue with us and are not satisfied with the outcome, you may escalate in writing to:

Marcello Sport Attn: Accessibility — Office of the Owner 1015 NW 17th Avenue Delray Beach, FL 33445 cs@marcellosport.com

We will review the matter and respond in writing within 15 business days.

Legal notes

This statement is a description of our commitments and current practices. It is not a warranty or guarantee that the site conforms to any particular standard at any given moment, and it does not create rights beyond those provided by applicable law.

Nothing in this statement, and nothing in our Terms of Service, waives, limits, or is intended to waive or limit any right you have under the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 or Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Florida Civil Rights Act, the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, or any other applicable federal, state, or local accessibility or civil rights law. The general disclaimers and limitations in our Terms of Service do not apply to claims arising under those laws to the extent they cannot lawfully be limited.

Third parties. We are not able to remedy accessibility barriers on websites, platforms, and services we do not control, including social media platforms, payment providers, and shipping carriers. Where you encounter one, tell us and we will provide an alternative route to the same outcome.

Accessibility tooling. As described above, this site offers an optional third-party accessibility widget. We do not represent that the widget makes this site conformant with any accessibility standard, and we do not rely on it in place of remediating the site itself. It is an optional convenience. Our conformance work, and our commitment to you, are described in the sections above and are not contingent on it.
